Sogara silkscreen papers are printed by hand and consist of a single image or several images on one sheet.
Ready to frame, this intricate artwork of 4 hand silkscreened images is based on woodblock prints by Hiroshige.
Top Left: The 53 stations of the Tokaido, Rain Shower at Shono.
Top Right: Famous Places in the Eastern Capital, Cherry Trees at Night.
Bottom Left: Famous Restaurants of Edo, The Aoyagai in Ryogoku.
Bottom Right: Famous Places in the Eastern Capital, Shower on Nihonbashi Bridge.
Using high quality, richly pigmented inks these exceptional papers are hand printed to a base paper made of kozo, each colour applied separately with precision and timing which results in a luscious, colourful and vibrant paper.
Each sheet measures approx. 990mm x 660mm, this is a full panel sheet with a white edge on all sides. The printed area is approx. 940mm x 600mm.
