One might expect technology to have rendered fountain pens obsolete, yet they’re enjoying a renaissance.  Visually appealing, smooth to write with and a more sustainable option than disposable pens they are the ideal instrument to express personality and individuality and to encourage creativity.

At Quince & Quill we love the range of fountain pens by German brand Kaweco.

This internationally renowned brand have been manufacturing pens and pencils in Germany since 1883 (It is their 140th anniversary this year) and their passion for the smallest of details, quality tradition and craftsmanship alongside innovation result in products that keep the promise of being much loved and seasoned companions.

Kaweco's solid steel Sport's fountain pen

One of Kaweco's most timeless designs is the Sport model.  This was created in 1911 and was the first pocket fountain pen.  Stylish and practical to have at hand when at home or out and about.  Measuring a neat 10.5 cm when closed, with the cap posted, the pen extends to a comfortable size of 13 cm for writing.  This timeless model, with oversized octagonal cap, is available in many beautiful colours, including seasonal limited editions and also in solid steel.  Hand assembled in Germany.

Another of their famous models is Perkeo, a pen that was first featured in Kaweco catalogues in around 1900. This design features a sixteen-edged barrel with an octagonal cap that provides an ergonomic grip. As always with a Kaweco fountain pen the quality of the materials and stainless steel nib ensure a smooth writing experience.
