The start of a new school year is the ideal time to treat yourself to a new notebook or planner. As a company who really appreciate quality paper a new notebook is a special experience for many reasons...
Foremost it represents a fresh start. Opening the cover of a blank notebook feels like a clean slate, offering the chance to begin anew, whether it's for work, creative writing or organising thoughts, the possibilities are endless!
A fresh notebook or journal offers the opportunity to stay organised, set goals and keep track of important tasks or ideas. It may not happen but if you can source a notebook that is the right format for you it is more likely too.
Moving to the aesthetic appeal, many people love the tactile feel of crisp, new paper and their selected design or cover of a new notebook. The feeling of starting something new can be motivational and fuel a creativity boost making it easier to develop fresh ideas.
When choosing a notebook consider what is right for your requirements, here is a list of questions to consider:
1/ What page format do you prefer? Lined, Plain, Dot or Grid. In a previous blog we considered the pros and cons of each format and this is the most important decision to take to get the most benefit and enjoyment from a notebook.
2/ Paper Quality. This is something to think about depending on what you write or draw with, for example if you use a fountain pen you will need a notebook with paper that is fountain pen friendly so the ink does not bleed though the paper. Paper comes in different weights and quality paper is particularly satisfying to use, as a guideline consider paper of 100gsm +
3/ Notebook size. One size does not fit all here! Pocket notebooks that are compact and lightweight and ideal for being out and about or larger formats for more detailed planning, design or creativity at home.
4/ Aesthetic. Whether your preference is plain or patterned it can be a good idea to have a couple of notebooks for different work, why not choose a different cover so that each of your projects is easy to identify by the cover?
